Exams & Evaluation

 

Rules of advancing to higher academic level

  • Students passing any module earns full credit points

  • Students can not be promoted to next grade if he has more than 20 unfulfilled credit points in all previous grades

  • Students can not be promoted from phase 1 (Body systems) to phase 2 (Integrated clinical themes) until has has fulfilled all 150 credits points of phase 1

  • Students can be graduated until he/she has fulfilled all 300 credit points of the program

  • Student-selected component, medical terminology & computer courses’ marks are not added to total summative score but their credit points are mandatory.

     

    Pass Marks

    Regulations

     

    To pass any module, student should get at least 60% of total marks, and at least 40% of marks allocated to end-year written exam

    Attendance

    The student should attend 75% or more of all courses (obligatory & elective) to be allowed to enter term and final exams or to be legible for final course evaluation.

    Student prohibited from entering exams will be given a grade of (very weak). If they pass next exam they will be evaluated as (pass).

    Students achieving less then 75% attendance will fail courses not evaluated by exams.

    Medical excuses

    A sick student should attend to the medical committee of the Faculty the day of the exam to be medically examined, if the committee approves his condition he can sit for the next exam & keep his grade.

     

    Missing an exam

    If a student fails to attend the exam for serious compelling cause, the administration can accept his excuse and postpone his exam.

     

    Retardation without excuse
    If no acceptable compelling cause is presented to the Faculty before missing an exam. The student will be considered as failing (very weak). If he passes the course next exam he will be given a (pass) grade

    • Student should attend 30 minutes early

       

      Examination rules

    • No papers, books, phones are allowed in exam hall; if any student will be subjected to faculty legal affairs

    • English is the examination language

    • Student should write his name, number & grade in specific location

    • Answers should fill whole pages, no unused pages left before asking for another answer form

    • Any signs or markings of the answer papers are prohibited

    • Students are not allowed to depart before half the time of exam has passed

    • The course professor attends for half an hour at onset of exam

    • Students are not allowed to depart, change seats, or talk

    • Students are not allowed to leave or stand during the last 15 minutes

    • Students deliver their papers by end of exam to controller

       

      The student is granted (pass) degree

    • If he was previously prohibited from attending the exam.

    • If be did not attend without submitting acceptable excuses.

    • If he had previously failed the course exam.

       

      Canceling the examination

      The Faculty Dean can cancel the student’s exam in one or more course as a penalty for misbehviour.

       

      Complaints

      Students can present complaints within two weeks after declaration of the results.

       

      The student is awarded honor degree

    • If he did not fail any course during his academic year.

    • If his grades were very good or higher.
